The Daily Grind, Chilling- East Canton Ohio

    A friend of mine called me and said to me that she had this area in her business that was closed off completely. We couldn't figure out why a past resident would completely dry wall off the stairway entrance to an entire floor of the building. It just didn't make sense. So we decided better to be safe than sorry, lets get in there and check it out. Kimberly Hunt of East Canton said "She has felt sudden cold spots and sometimes had the feeling like she was being watched, but always just wrote it off as her imagination". I told her that it may not just be her imagination and it would be good to have us check it out.

    We found that she wasn't imagining it, we were able to catch many orbs flying around. Now one would think, gee, that is a bug. But, it's winter, the place was closed off for many years and we cleaned the area quite well, as far as bugs, we didn't see any the entire time we were there with the lights on. No bugs were flying around the light of the flashlights, or bulbs. The heater in the hall way was set at an even 62 degrees, meaning most rooms would be a lot colder, too low for bugs to be that active and most the windows were boarded up well. These orbs swirling around were not taken with a flash, it was taken with a Soni Hi-8 with IR lighting. It wouldn't light up like that.  I am sure some orb pictures we caught could very well be dust.  We also had several psychics there, and even some who were not, that felt odd things.  But here is the kicker. We recorded EVP. But we cannot write off the EVP, nor could we debunk it.

    District 3's DAC- Mark Carter was in the basement and caught an EVP directed towards him. He had asked if there was a ghost or spirit in the area and if there was, to please let him know. Well, it did!  Its pretty clear that it was interacting with Mark, by even saying Mark's name. Which says to us that this is no longer residual energy, but classifies this one step up, right into Intelligent. 

    Also for the record, we did have a Christmas Celebration gathering for our group this night too. But absolutely no alcohol, or any other 'party' substances were brought or allowed. We did however have lots of goodies to go along with The Daily Grinds excellent premium Coffee, Latte's, Smoothies and Cola. Delicious! (see photo page for pictures of our Christmas celebration)

    End Result: These ghosts do not seem to bother the owner much, or be malicious or malevolent in anyway, but something is happening at The Daily Grind and it's not your average cup of tea. Marks Story is Below.

Here is DAC- Mark Carter's Story of What Happened

     We were invited to attend the Christmas party / Investigation at a coffee shop in East Canton, Karyn, Mary,and myself (Mark) decided to go but had no idea what to expect-not mutch information was known only that weird things were happening and that Jill had stated that the place felt creepy and that the upstairs had been sealed up for some time. When we arrived we were welcomed by the owner and proceeded to lay out the goodies that we had brought for everyone. Looking around the shop seemed warm and cozy with nothing out of the ordinary except the smell of great coffee.

    After the pleasantries we decided to at least to take a quick walk thru and see the building and the owner came with us. We proceeded to what looked like a closet but was actually the stairs to the upper floor. A big hole was cut thru the drywall but you still had to duck to get inside. Upstairs almost looked like it hadn't been touched in a hundred years except for a few odds and ends and the floors being swept a week prior. We walked around about 4 rooms that compile the upper floor and found one room in particular that had the feeling of something there-the far left back room. Entering the room I felt something in the left corner-someone sitting in a chair. After conversing with the owner for a few minutes we proceeded down to the main floor downstairs and greeted some new people that had arrived.

    I then was asked by the owner if we had caught anything- I did have my video camera on so I briefly reviewed and sure enough I had caught an orb. I then ventured to the basement just to see the layout with the lights on-and one corner was boarded around-wasn't sure why but had that weird feeling about that corner. Went back upstairs and mingled with the group for a while. I had a few munchies and some premium coffee and asked Karyn and Mary if they wanted to go upstairs for a bit. We had a dead battery in the EMF detector so I ran across the street to get a new one-so the three of us  geared up and went upstairs once again. I was taking readings with the digital thermometer were ranging from mid 50's to low 60's thanks to a small heater placed back by the stairs-but nothing out of the ordinary. Karyn took a sweep with the EMF and it looked like a blinking flashlight-high readings everywhere-in the 4's and 5's.We looked around for outlets or any kind of wiring but didn't see any. We just figured it was buried wires in the walls.

    We then walked to the back left room where I felt something in the corner again-Mary said she felt something in the corner-a woman in a chair looking out the window-I told her I had felt the same thing and thought her name was Annie or Anna. Mary paused a moment and put her hand on the boarded up window and I went across the room with the video cam and Karyn had the blinking EMF detector and voice recorder. I took a few moments and put the camera on Mary and was catching a few orbs around her. We definitely have a presence here.

    We went back down to the main floor and had our gift exchange- I got a great book on ghostly encounters and a "I'd rather be ghost hunting" coffee mug. I also noticed a few more faces that I hadn't seen before and some I had seen on other investigations. I asked Mary and Karyn if they had been to the basement yet, they said they had briefly, so I asked if they wanted to go down with the gear. So down we went on downstairs. I was still picking up something in that corner. I told Mary and Karyn it doesn't want us here it's pushing me away, strongly! Mary went to the corner and said "yes, I can feel it too. Its saying leave, LEAVE!"  I started catching orbs again around Mary and told her so. She was trying to provoke a response just then something fell to the floor on the other side of the basement something of decent size so we tried to find out what it was went to the back right corner of the basement and started picking up orbs running front to back of the basement and around the gas meter. I peeped around the corner of the boxed in area and caught another orb. Wow! I tried to provoke it telling it to move something, or make its presence known (being kind of forceful) all of the sudden I felt it around me and it felt kind of spooky feeling, so I backed away from the area of the gas meter, and we went back upstairs.

    The group seemed smaller and found out some had went upstairs. It was getting late so I figured I would get as much footage as I could so I went back upstairs. Several people had gathered in the room I had felt the presence of the woman and were holding dowsing rods and asking questions. Somehow they had come up with the name Annie. I told them I had also. The dowsing rods had seemed to be working well with answering the questions asked and one person had a camera that the light would come on at will or when asked to all the while, I'm catching orbs like crazy 1,2,4,6 together then some separated. Some almost seemed to come together to form an apparition. Some have one orb splitting into 2 or 3. Some going thru walls, coming out of walls, up, down, zigzag, back and forth and Wow! Some I could see with my own 2 eyes and some with the infrared cam. Wow! And to think I got so excited when I captured one at Mansfield-this seemed to be temporary euphoria, but all good things must come to an end as my battery finally died, but Jill had a charger that bought me a few more minutes.

    We then said our thank you's and good bye's and headed home. The next day I was reviewing some footage of the orbs galore when I came to the basement part where I was backing away from a uncomfortable area when I heard watching you. Holy Cow!  I called Mary and Karen and asked them to come over and check out the orb show and this great EVP. While reviewing you could hear there was more to it-so we cranked up the stereo and surround sound and listened again. "Hey Mark, I'm watching you! (pauses) Mark!". Needless to say I was stunned-and Mary and Karyn seemed to be picking up there jaws from the ground.

Past investigations

District 5 (Ohio Valley)

We investigated an Ohio Valley private residence where the family had to move out of their home that is now vacant. We conducted a serious investigations, to see what we can find out the cause, or a way to help the owners, so they can sell their possibly haunted home. In the least, we should be able to document the case. There was a loud screeching sound that we could not figure out what the cause was as well as one of our investigators got real sick to her stomach suddenly. But that is all we were able to do. We did find a fireplace completely blocked up and sealed, which gave us the conclusion of something else also scaring the previous home owners. Conclusion: Inconclusive

District 3

 Goodyear Heights

Although I found no scientific proof, I witnessed seeing a ghost of a little boy first hand. He came right up to me and looked at me seriously out of the corner of my eye.... the second I turned and look, to snap pictures, he was gone. But I saw it... I was able to catch two names by channeling, and ever since the owner used these two names seriously and firmly demanding them to leave her home alone, along with using our current date, since that moment, the home owner has never felt them, nor had anymore problems. We were going to do a follow up, but it's not needed, her problem to this day, still seems to be over. "The ghosts of those children have moved on", the owner stated. I personally would say this house is haunted but was not able to obtain any scientific evidence.

2. Youngstown

Another private home was investigated a couple weeks ago and although we had a few strange feelings, we caught nothing. We plan on possibly going again if the problems persist.

I want to add a note on this last one, it's amazing how much fear will cause more will happen in the mind. We seriously feel that a little bit of ghostly activity may have occurred, but it scared the home owner so badly, that now many things that would be normal are scaring the owner as well. It's very important not to be afraid of ghosts, they will do far less damage than that of a bitter human.

Another tip: Ghosts have always been around and documented since the beginning of mankind. Perhaps it's not so un-natural after all.
